A pressure sore, also known as a pressure ulcer or decubitus ulcer, is a localized damage to the skin and/or underlying tissue that can occur when there is prolonged pressure on the skin, often as a result of lying in one position for an extended period. This can lead to reduced blood flow and oxygen delivery to the skin, which can cause damage to the skin and underlying tissue.
